Grant Your Advisor Full Viewing Access To Your Seller Central

A short, no-password setup. Add your advisor as an Authorized Partner — the route Amazon now requires for external service providers — set every section to View, and they can read and download every report needed without being able to change anything you haven't approved.

Why it matters

Why Full Read Access Matters

Partial access is the single biggest cause of slow, guess-based advice. With full visibility your advisor works from your actual numbers instead of asking for screenshots.

Complete diagnosis

Profitability, fees, ad waste, and inventory health only make sense when read together.

No back-and-forth

Your advisor pulls the reports directly instead of emailing export requests every week.

Faster risk response

Account Health and performance notifications let your advisor flag policy issues early.

You stay in control

View-only permissions mean nothing in your account changes without your say-so.

Prerequisites

Before You Start

Two minutes of checks that prevent the most common failures.

  • You are signed in as the account holder, or as a user who has been granted Admin rights on User Permissions — those are the only accounts that can manage permissions.
  • You are on a Professional selling plan — the User Permissions page is not available on the Individual plan.
  • Your advisor is registered in Amazon's Solution Provider Portal, so they can accept an Authorized Partner invitation.
  • You have a direct way to send them the invitation link (email or chat) — the Authorized Partner link is not emailed by Amazon.
  • You are on desktop. The Seller Central mobile app cannot manage user permissions.

Never share your Amazon password, two-step verification code, or recovery code. A proper user invitation makes all of that unnecessary, and sharing credentials breaks Amazon's terms.

Part one — the correct route

Add Your Advisor As An Authorized Partner

Amazon now requires external contractors and third-party service providers to be added as authorized partners rather than as secondary users. This is the route to use.

Why this matters to you. If an outside advisor signs in as an ordinary secondary user, Amazon can see the same person logging into several Seller Central accounts and treat those accounts as connected — a genuine suspension risk. The Authorized Partner designation exists specifically to prevent that. Providers who did not migrate to Amazon's Solution Provider Portal lost the ability to access new accounts as of 10 April 2025.
  1. 1

    Open User Permissions

In Seller Central, click the gear icon (top right) and choose Settings → User Permissions.

  2. 2

Switch to the Authorized Partners tab

Select the Authorized Partners tab, then click Add Authorized Partner.

  3. 3

Copy the one-time invitation link and send it

Amazon generates a one-time link. Copy it and send it to your advisor directly — Amazon does not email it for you. The link expires after seven days, so send it straight away.

  4. 4

Your advisor accepts from their provider account

They accept using their own Solution Provider Portal account and their own two-step verification. If your advisor cannot accept an Authorized Partner link, ask whether they are registered in the Solution Provider Portal.

  5. 5

Choose the role permissions to grant

Once accepted, you select what the partner can reach. Use the permission list in Part three and keep everything at View.

Part two — internal staff only

Secondary Users (Your Own Team)

Secondary users are for people inside your business — staff, employees, an in-house VA. Use this only if the Authorized Partners tab is unavailable on your account, and expect a little more friction.

  1. 1

    Open User Permissions

Settings → User Permissions, or open sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/account-manager/home.html directly.

  2. 2

Add a new Seller Central user

Under Add a New Seller Central User, enter the person's name and email address, then click Send invitation. Pending invites appear under Open Invitations.

On some marketplaces Amazon asks the new user for a government-issued ID, date of birth, country of citizenship, and country of birth, so this can take longer than a few minutes.

  3. 3

    They accept the invitation

Amazon emails a link. They accept it with their own Amazon credentials and set up their own two-step verification.

  4. 4

Confirm they appear in the list

Refresh Settings → User Permissions. Their name should appear in the user list with an Edit button beside it. If the entry is still under Open Invitations, the invitation has not been accepted yet.

Part three

Set The Permissions

Once the invitation is accepted, click Edit beside your advisor on the User Permissions page. Each section can be set to None, View, Edit, or Admin. View is all that is needed for reporting — Edit only where management of that area was agreed, and Admin only if they should manage other users.

None

No access to the section.

View

Read and download only. The default for an advisor.

Edit

Can change data in that section.

Admin

Full control, including managing other users. Rarely appropriate.

Two layouts are in circulation. Amazon has consolidated everything behind a single Edit button with a permission search bar and an Open Invitations list. The rollout is staggered, so some accounts still show the older screens with separate Manage User Permissions and Manage Global Permissions links and only None / View only / View & Edit options. The permission groups below apply either way.

Inventory

View
  • Manage Inventory / Manage All Inventory
  • Add a Product
  • Inventory Reports
  • FBA Inventory & Shipments
  • Manage FBA Shipments
  • Restock Inventory

Lets your advisor audit listings, stranded inventory, and FBA stock levels.

Orders

View
  • Manage Orders
  • Order Reports
  • Order Report Scheduling
  • Manage Returns
  • Manage SAFE-T Claims

Needed for order-level reconciliation and return/claim analysis.

Reports

View
  • Business Reports
  • Payments (Reports)
  • Fulfillment Reports
  • Advertising Reports
  • Return Reports
  • Tax Document Library
  • Custom Reports / Data Exports

This is the core group — it unlocks nearly every downloadable report.

Performance

View
  • Account Health
  • Customer Feedback
  • A-to-z Guarantee Claims
  • Voice of the Customer
  • Performance Notifications

So your advisor can monitor policy risk and act before suspensions happen.

Advertising & Growth

View
  • Advertising / Campaign Manager
  • Deals, Coupons & Promotions
  • Fulfilment by Amazon (programs)
  • Buy Shipping

View access is enough for reporting; edit only if management was agreed.

Settings (view)

View
  • Account Info
  • Notification Preferences
  • Shipping Settings
  • Tax Settings
  • User Permissions (view)

Keep these at View unless you explicitly want changes made. Never grant Admin here.

Fastest approach: use the search bar on the permissions page to jump to each section, set View throughout, and save at the bottom. Avoid Grant Universal Site Admin Access — that single option hands over full control of the account. Your exact list depends on your marketplace and enrolled programs, so a few names may differ — that's expected.

Multi-marketplace

Extend Access To Every Marketplace

One invitation covers the whole account — your advisor is never invited twice. Permissions, however, are set per marketplace, so each region needs its own pass.

  1. 1

    Confirm the marketplaces are linked

In a unified (global) account, the marketplace switcher at the top of Seller Central lists every region you sell in. Anything listed there is covered by the same invitation.

  2. 2

    Set permissions in each region

Switch to a region, open Settings → User Permissions, click Edit beside your advisor, and apply the same View-level access. Repeat for every marketplace they should see.

  3. 3

    Note the naming drift

Some accounts still show a separate Global User Permissions or Manage Global Permissions screen for selecting which marketplaces a user can reach. If you see it, use it — then still confirm the per-region permissions.

Verification

Reports Your Advisor Should Be Able To Download

Once you're done, your advisor runs this checklist. If anything on it is missing, it points straight to one unticked permission.

01

Business Reports

Detail Page Sales & Traffic, by ASIN and by date

02

Payments

Transaction view, Date Range Reports (Summary & Transaction)

03

Inventory

All Listings, Active Listings, Inventory Age, Stranded Inventory

04

FBA / Fulfilment

Shipments, Received Inventory, Reimbursements, Removals, Fees

05

Returns

FBA & MFN customer returns, return reasons

06

Advertising

Sponsored Products / Brands / Display performance, search terms

07

Brand Analytics

Search Query Performance, Market Basket, Repeat Purchase

08

Tax

Tax Document Library, VAT/sales tax reports where applicable

Adjacent systems

Advertising & Brand Registry

Two areas live partly outside User Permissions. Both are optional, but they remove big blind spots.

Amazon Ads

Granting the Advertising permission covers Campaign Manager inside Seller Central. For the full Ads console and bulk reports, add your advisor from the admin menu in advertising.amazon.com → Access and Settings using a standardised role — Viewer for reporting only, Editor if they run the campaigns — or a custom application-level permission set.

Brand Registry

Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance, A+ Content, and Brand Protection are granted in brandservices.amazon.com → Manage users. Assign your advisor a Registered Agent or user role on the relevant brands.

If something breaks

Troubleshooting

Almost every issue comes down to one of these.

Your advisor never received the invitation

For an Authorized Partner, the one-time link is generated by you and must be sent directly to your advisor — Amazon does not email it — and it expires after seven days. For a secondary user, check the email spelling and spam folder, then re-send.

There is no Authorized Partners tab

The rollout is staggered and the tab only appears on Professional accounts. If it is genuinely absent, add your advisor as a secondary user instead and note that they may be asked for identity documents.

The Edit button is missing

The invitation has not been accepted yet, or you are signed in as a user without administrative rights. The primary account holder — or a secondary user granted Admin on User Permissions — can manage permissions.

A page is visible but reports are empty

The parent section is set to View but the specific report permission (for example Fulfilment Reports or Business Reports) is still None. Use the search bar on the permissions page to find it by name.

Access works in one country but not another

The invitation is account-wide, but permissions are set per marketplace. Switch to the missing region and set the permissions there.

You want to end access

Settings → User Permissions → find your advisor → Delete (or Revoke for an Authorized Partner). Have your advisor confirm they have lost access, and re-check the page after signing out and back in.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Should my advisor be a secondary user or an Authorized Partner?

Authorized Partner. Amazon's guidance is that external contractors and third-party service providers must be added as authorized partners, not secondary users. Secondary users are for people inside your own business.

Will my advisor be able to change my prices or listings?

Only if you grant Edit or Admin on those sections. Set everything to View and your advisor can read and download data but cannot modify anything.

Can my advisor see my bank account or card details?

No. Deposit and charge methods stay hidden from additional users, and are never needed. Only payout summaries and transaction reports are visible.

Does this share my password?

Never. Your advisor signs in with their own account and their own two-step verification. Do not share passwords, verification codes, or recovery codes with anyone.

Can I remove access later?

Yes. Go to Settings → User Permissions and delete or revoke your advisor's access. It is designed to take effect immediately, but ask them to confirm they have been signed out, since sellers have occasionally reported lingering sessions.

Do I need a Professional selling plan or Brand Registry?

The User Permissions page requires a Professional plan. Brand Registry roles (Brand Analytics, Search Query Performance, A+ Content) are granted separately inside Brand Registry.

What if I sell in several countries?

One invitation covers the whole unified account, but permissions are set per marketplace. Switch to each region and apply the same View permissions there.
